The Examination
Rolled edges, hand-burnished and saddle-stitched. We measure arc symmetry to the millimetre — counterfeit handles collapse where originals hold their curve.
Engraving depth, font weight, screw type. Plated zamak shines wrong; solid brass wears right. The metal never lies twice.
Saddle stitch at eight to nine per inch, angled like grains of rice. Machine-copied stitches lie flat — and lie.
Foil depth, kerning, serif terminals. The stamp is where most counterfeits finally confess.
